- Founded in 2023 by Fabien Grosyeux and Erwan Simon, Genial’s goal is to make AI agents accessible to smaller companies.
The investment was led by Huttopia and Crédit Agricole, with support from Founders Futures and several business angels.
Erwan Simon, Co-founder said, “Our first objective is the commercial acceleration of Genial, as an actor of sovereign and ethical artificial intelligence. We have reached a certain level, with a hundred customers. We come from the tourism sector, which represents about 50% of our activity, We want to continue to develop tailor-made and secure AI agents in the company, at the service of employees,”.
These tools are designed to easily fit with existing systems and help employees with daily tasks like creating quotes and presentations, saving up to seven hours of work per week.
Genial has become well-known in the tourism industry, which makes up about half of its customers. One of its major projects was creating ‘MarIAnne’, an AI assistant for Atout France, which was launched during the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. MarIAnne helped users plan personalized trips on the France.fr platform.

Among the current projects is the search engine their Icia, for Charentes Maritime. “We are developing for them the equivalent of a Perplexity of tourism. Icia allows you to answer the question ‘What to do this weekend with our children’ as an example’.”
The startup is using its funding to launch the ‘Genial 4 Good’ program, which will support social and community-focused businesses.
