SUMMARY
- France-based civic tech platform Qomon has raised €5.5 million in a round led by Asterion Ventures, Ternel, and Good Only Ventures.
Founded in October 2020 by Florent Barre and Jean-Baptiste Daniel, Qomon is building the go-to mobilisation platform for volunteer-driven organisations, starting in Europe and North America and expanding globally.
Qomon sits at the crossroads of charitytech, civictech, and govtech—sectors gaining momentum worldwide. CEO Florent Barre says the idea came from a simple insight: nonprofits and political groups already have something most businesses don’t—a passionate community. Qomon’s tools help those communities take action faster and more effectively.
" You typically have your employees and the general public, but in this space, there's a massive group in between — sometimes tens or hundreds of thousands of people — who are happy to help. But that creates a logistical challenge."

Volunteers aren’t like employees—they’re driven by purpose, not pay. But many nonprofits and political groups lack the tools or systems to manage them well. That’s where Qomon comes in: helping organisations activate their supporters, whether they’re donors, voters, or volunteers.

At the same time, more people want to support meaningful causes—but actual volunteer participation is dropping. According to CEO Florent Barre, this gap exists because the tools available today don’t make getting involved easy, instant, or fulfilling.
"People sign up on a website and hear nothing back. That's where we come in. Qomon makes it simple to go from sign-up to action right from your sofa. And that activation drives not just more volunteering, but more donations too."
Qomon is designed to help supporters take the lead—organising actions, expanding advocacy, and building lasting movements. Instead of juggling spreadsheets, scattered CRMs, and messaging apps, organisations get a single platform for CRM activation, volunteer coordination, field operations, insights, and analytics—all with top-tier data security.
The platform helps reduce costs, increase reach, and improve decision-making, enabling greater impact. Qomon’s users range from major political parties and city governments to grassroots campaigns and global NGOs. Impressively, 84% of users report better volunteer retention after adopting the platform.
With rising civic engagement—over 51% voter turnout in the 2024 European Parliament elections and tens of millions voting in the US—Qomon equips organisations with modern tools for secure, large-scale action. At the same time, nonprofit demand is growing: 71% of organisations report increased program requests, while 68% face service cuts due to funding challenges.
Now supporting over 600 organisations across 60 countries, Qomon is becoming the go-to infrastructure for mission-driven organising. As CEO Florent Barre notes, nonprofits have grown too dependent on social media for engagement—but those platforms don’t let you truly own your audience. Qomon offers a smarter, more direct alternative.
"Algorithms dictate visibility, and you lose control over who sees your message, where your supporters are, and how to mobilise them.
We're offering an alternative—a kind of private social layer where organisations have full control over their community. They know where supporters are located, can activate them on demand, and aren't at the mercy of tech platforms' algorithm changes."
Both Asterion Ventures and Ternel share Qomon’s long-term vision of building purpose-driven solutions that go beyond profit. They also support the importance of keeping Qomon independent, secure, and politically neutral. This funding round—backed entirely by impact-focused investors—aligns with Qomon’s B Corp status and reinforces its mission-first approach.
With the new capital, Qomon is expanding its platform, improving the experience for both volunteers and the organisations they serve, and introducing fundraising features now entering beta testing.
