Elaniti funding news - UK-based Agritech Startup Elaniti Secures Undisclosed Amount Funding

UK agritech startup Elaniti has raised funds from investors like biotope Biotope Incubator, Planetary Impact Ventures, and PINC.

Elaniti’s main product is a digital tool that helps farmers make better decisions by using AI and DNA sequencing to analyze soil microbes. This helps farmers increase productivity in both the short and long term while using fewer synthetic inputs.

Their technology fills an important gap in agriculture, as most soil testing focuses on chemicals and physical properties, but not on the microbes that affect soil health and crop results.

By linking microbe data to crop performance, Elaniti gives farmers useful insights to boost productivity and create healthier, more resilient soils, which are even more important as countries aim to become more self-sufficient.

Scott Jarrett, Elaniti CEO, said: "Soil is the foundation of our food system, but modern agriculture has strained its health. The soil microbiome holds the key to restoring fertility, resilience, and reducing reliance on synthetic inputs. By unlocking its potential, we can help farmers produce food sustainably while regenerating the land for future generations."

Annick Verween, Head of biotope said, “At biotope, we invest in pioneering biotech startups that address key sustainability challenges. Elaniti perfectly fits within our mission, as their work enables the transition to regenerative practices Their technology holds significant potential for improving soil health while ensuring economic viability for farmers."

According to Mikkel Lehmann, Board Member at Elaniti and investor at Planetary Impact Ventures, we urgently need to understand soil microbiomes to transition towards regenerative farming. "Elaniti’s ability to decode this complexity and translate it into practical guidance for farmers makes them a key player in this shift. We believe these insights will play a fundamental role in reducing pesticide usage and improving soil stewardship globally.”

Rosemari Herrero, Senior Investment Manager at PINC said "Elaniti’s traction demonstrates that they are tackling a crucial challenge in agriculture. We are impressed by their ability to generate revenue from day one and by their courage to take on a highly technical and disruptive field,”.

With this investment, Elaniti will grow its team and boost its research to speed up the launch of its analytics platform. The company is also building partnerships with agribusiness leaders to ensure its insights are useful and proven in real-world conditions.

This funding adds to earlier non-dilutive support from Innovate UK in January 2025, bringing the total raised to €1.5 million.

About Elaniti

Elaniti helps farmers and organizations make better decisions to achieve better crop results by improving soil health. Using machine learning, they are creating models to predict crop outcomes based on soil biology, chemistry, and nutrients.
