SUMMARY
- Delft-based clean tech startup Renset has raised €600K to boost the adoption of clean, mobile battery systems in the construction sector.
The round was led by Vliegwiel Impact, with continued backing from returning investors Barry McNicholas, David Beaty, and Pieter van ’t Veer.
The funding will help Renset scale production and expand deployments, meeting the rising demand for sustainable energy solutions across heavy industries.
Construction sites, utility companies, and festivals commonly rely on diesel or petrol generators for power. However, these generators are noisy, inefficient, and emit harmful CO₂, impacting both the environment and worker health.

A standard 5 kVA diesel generator releases about 50 kg of CO₂ every day and uses fuel inefficiently only 40% turns into electricity. This poor efficiency along with high upkeep and constant fuel needs, makes it expensive and difficult to run.
Founded by Teun van ’t Veer and Stijn van ’t Veer, Renset provides a lightweight, portable, and waterproof battery system built for construction sites, utilities, and festivals. Weighing about 50 kg, it’s easy to transport and set up.
Unlike noisy, polluting diesel generators, Renset’s system is emission-free and energy-efficient. Its swappable battery packs enable quick replacements, while the modular design—with four 1 kWh slots offering up to 4 kWh capacity—lets users customize power output to their specific needs.
“We embrace continuous innovation and aim to develop technologies and solutions that are environmentally responsible and contribute to a circular economy. We believe in the power of creativity and innovation to drive sustainable progress,” says the company.
