David Evans Joins Sofinnova Partners as Partner

David Evans is a physician-scientist with many years of experience in healthcare, drug development, and life sciences investing. Earlier in his career, he worked as a doctor in Australia and with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). He also worked at the World Bank, focusing on healthcare policy and financing, before moving into the pharmaceutical industry.

At Sofinnova Partners, Evans will support the firm's Crossover Strategy, which focuses on investing in late-stage private and public life sciences companies. His experience in medicine, science and investing will help Sofinnova identify and support innovative healthcare businesses. His appointment also strengthens the firm's leadership team in its London office as it continues to grow.

Before joining Sofinnova, Evans built a strong investment track record at the Roche Venture Fund, where he focused on life sciences companies across Europe and the UK. Earlier, he held senior positions at Roche, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Eli Lilly, leading data science and drug development projects. He also practiced medicine at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia, and worked with Médecins Sans Frontières, giving him a unique combination of clinical, scientific and investment experience.
