CrowdStrike, a global leader in cybersecurity, has announced plans to acquire Onum, a Madrid-based company specializing in telemetry pipeline technology built on its own in-memory architecture.

SUMMARY

  • CrowdStrike, a global leader in cybersecurity, has announced plans to acquire Onum, a Madrid-based company specializing in telemetry pipeline technology built on its own in-memory architecture.

The acquisition aims to speed up the development of CrowdStrike’s AI-driven Falcon Next-Gen SIEM by removing data integration bottlenecks and enabling real-time threat detection directly within data streams.

While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the acquisition aligns with CrowdStrike’s broader vision of creating “the operating system of cybersecurity” a unified platform that combines endpoint protection, identity security, threat intelligence and now, fast, scalable telemetry.

“Our Next-Gen SIEM is the engine that powers the modern SOC, and data is the fuel that makes the engine run,” said George Kurtz, CEO and founder of CrowdStrike. “Onum is both a pipeline and a filter, which will stream high-quality, filtered data directly into the platform to drive autonomous cybersecurity at scale. This is how we stop breaches at the speed of AI while giving customers complete control over their entire data ecosystem – well beyond cybersecurity.”

CrowdStrike’s Next-Gen SIEM, built to challenge legacy players like Splunk, IBM QRadar, and ArcSight, is positioned as a key platform for enterprises moving toward AI-powered Security Operations Centers (SOCs).

A major challenge to adoption, however, has been the difficulty of handling vast telemetry data across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Onum addresses this with its stateless, in-memory telemetry architecture, built to ingest and analyze massive data volumes in real time, helping overcome those scale and complexity barriers.

“Onum was founded on the belief that pipelines should do more than transport data, they should transform data into real-time intelligence,” said Pedro Castillo, founder and CEO of Onum. “By joining CrowdStrike, we can deliver this vision at unprecedented scale to accelerate SOC transformation on a global scale.”

By integrating threat detection directly into the data pipeline, Onum enables early identification of threats before the data even reaches the Falcon platform.

CrowdStrike’s acquisition of Onum reflects a broader shift in the cybersecurity industry where enterprises are seeking scalable, cloud-native SIEM solutions that provide real-time results. Already a leader in endpoint protection and threat intelligence, CrowdStrike is expanding its Falcon platform to bring together key security functions in one unified solution.
