Cotierra Lands $3Mn to Scale Decentralized Biochar Technology

In tropical farming regions, large amounts of agricultural waste are often left unused. At the same time, farmers are facing declining soil quality and more frequent extreme weather, which can make farming more difficult.

Food and beverage companies are also under pressure to reduce emissions from their supply chains, while climate change is making agricultural production less predictable.

Cotierra is working to address these challenges by developing technology that makes decentralized biochar production easier to deploy and scale across tropical farming communities.
