Dexerto is a website that provides news about video games and entertainment. Established in 2015, with its headquarters located in London, the website began with an emphasis on esports before transitioning to tabloid-style coverage of video games and online culture, with a special emphasis on internet personalities. In order to cover esports Joshua Nino, Chris Marsh, Mike Kent and Nicolas Hulsmans created Dexerto on March 19, 2015. There were two websites at first one in English and one in French. A webpage in Spanish was also introduced. After that, the website coverage changed. According to a 2022 Business Insider article it was evolving to chronicle broader online culture with a flair for drama in the gaming space and beyond. It continued to cover esports to some extent but focused primarily on drama and controversies involving internet personalities who draw more attention than esports. Rod Breslau an esports commentator called the website the TMZ of esports. The website founder Nino stated that amateur bloggers and veteran esports journalists alike work there. Dexerto has been accused by several online celebrities such as Pokimane of creating clickbait content about them.
