SUMMARY

  • Toulouse-based trusttech startup Certificall has raised €1 million in seed funding, led by TomCat, Groupama, and InsurAngels.

Founded in 2022 by Guillaume Laurent and Nicolas Chabauty, Certificall offers certified visual evidence solutions for insurers, brokers, and industrial clients, ensuring fast, reliable, and tamper-proof documentation.

With insurance fraud in France reaching nearly €902 million in 2024, Certificall’s tech architecture safeguards the integrity of evidence through geolocation, tamper-proof certification, time stamping, and eIDAS signature seals.

The platform enables reports in under 90 seconds, having already certified over 3 million photos.

Guillaume Laurent, president and co-founder, explained: The increase in fraud in 2021-2022 was just the beginning. Over the past two years, generative AI has become increasingly sophisticated and accessible to everyone. Today, our priority is to block fraud at the source.

As the EU aims for 80% adoption of digital identity wallets by 2030, Certificall is positioning itself as a trusted third party compliant with eIDAS regulations for electronic identification and trust services.

This compliance ensures that every proof issued is legally valid across the EU, providing document-sensitive industries with a secure, compliant way to maintain digital integrity.

The new funding will drive technology development and commercial expansion across Europe.
