British Hyperscaler Nscale Secures €936M To Boost European AI Infrastructure

The funding was led by Norwegian energy infrastructure group Aker, with participation from firms including Nokia and Nvidia.

Nscale is collaborating with Aker to build OpenAI’s AI data centres, StarGate Norway and its UK counterpart, StarGate UK. The company plans to use the new funding to expand large-scale AI infrastructure across Europe, North America, and the Middle East, supporting projects like StarGate Norway and StarGate UK.

Including the Series B, Nscale has raised nearly $1.3 billion to date.

Nscale, describing itself as a “hyperscaler engineered for AI,” was highlighted as a key local AI infrastructure partner for OpenAI, Microsoft, and Nvidia. This recognition comes as these tech giants announced major investments in the UK AI ecosystem last week, coinciding with President Trump’s visit.
