Beyond Aero, a startup working on the first hydrogen-powered electric business aircraft, has raised $44 million in Series A funding, including an extra $20 million.

Investor of the round
The funding round was co-led by Giant Ventures and Bpifrance, the French Sovereign Fund, through its Deeptech 2030 fund. This brings the total amount raised by Beyond Aero to $44 million, including loans and grants.
Other investors in this round include Initialized Capital, known for supporting 27 unicorns, as well as Airbnb and Dropbox founders Nate Blecharczyk and Arash Ferdowsi, along with several well-known athletes.
The Aim of the company
Beyond Aero aims to transform aviation by starting with business aviation, which is known for producing a lot of CO2—ten times more per passenger than commercial flights. This segment is facing increasing scrutiny.

The company has invested $12 million to create a powerful lab for developing hydrogen electric engines. Their aircraft, called One, will be able to carry 6 to 8 passengers for 800 nautical miles and is expected to launch by 2030.
Recently, Beyond Aero achieved key milestones, including France's first manned hydrogen-electric flight this year. They have also received $914 million in commitments for 108 aircraft and won the Sustainable Aviation Challenge from the World Economic Forum, joining the First Movers Coalition.

Initialized Capital which has backed 27 successful startups like Coinbase, Cruise, and Instacart continues to support Beyond Aero. The company has also gained investments from well-known figures, including Olympic champion Nikola Karabatić and World Cup winner Raphael Varane, through Teampact Ventures, as well as tech leaders like Nate Blecharczyk from Airbnb and Arash Ferdowsi from Dropbox.
About Beyond Aero
Beyond Aero is developing the first electric business aircraft powered by hydrogen. This aircraft will carry six passengers for up to 800 nautical miles (1,500 km)—five times farther than a battery-powered plane. Founded in December 2020, the company is redesigning a CS23 aircraft to focus on hydrogen-electric propulsion, including fuel cell technology, hydrogen tank integration, and advanced cooling systems.
