SUMMARY

  • Berlin-based Tower has raised €5.5 million across pre-seed and seed funding rounds to advance its data engineering platform for the AI era.

DIG Ventures led the pre-seed round, while Speedinvest led the seed round alongside existing investors. Other participants include Flyer One Ventures, Roosh Ventures, Celero Ventures, Angel Invest, and angel investors such as Jordan Tigani, Olivier Pomel, Ben Liebald, and Maik Taro Wehmeyer.

As AI reshapes the competitive landscape around data ownership, companies increasingly require fresh, reliable business data to power trustworthy AI systems. Open data storage architectures are critical in this shift, enabling organizations to retain full control of their data while supporting modern analytics and AI workloads.

Tower’s platform combines storage and compute in a single environment, helping companies manage analytical storage and processing while maintaining full ownership of their data. It equips data engineering teams with the tools needed to build and operate advanced analytics systems efficiently.

Founded by former Snowflake engineers Serhii Sokolenko (CEO) and Brad Heller (CTO), Tower focuses on the “last mile” of development. With AI-powered coding assistants, data teams can generate applications and pipelines faster, while Tower’s collaborative environment allows humans and AI agents to turn AI-generated code into reliable, production-ready systems.

According to Sokolenko, AI coding assistants have greatly sped up development, making deployment the main challenge. While teams can quickly generate pipelines and agents, they still require robust infrastructure to run these systems reliably with real company data.

The platform leverages the Apache Iceberg open table format, ensuring compatibility with leading data engines and major data platforms. This enables organizations to maintain full control of their data while providing AI systems with up-to-date, company-specific information for accurate analysis and decision-making.

Tower plans to use the new funding to grow its go-to-market team and enhance the capabilities of its platform.

Tower exists to turn those ideas into production systems, powered by information unique to each company instead of public and very dated internet archives. he said.
