Aslan also lets employees decide when and how they get paid, within limits set by their employers. This gives them more control over their finances and helps with budgeting each month.

Pay is the biggest cost for most businesses, amounting to £1 trillion in the UK alone. Getting pay right can be difficult for companies, and it’s the top priority for employees.

Until now, employees have always been paid on fixed payroll dates. This month, many will receive their pay 6 weeks after their last paycheck in December. With Aslan, employees can avoid using overdrafts or credit cards, which often charge 25-40% interest. Instead, they earn cashback rewards.

Since launching in April last year, it has gained clients from many industries, including financial services and luxury goods. Employees of all salary levels enjoy the rewards and flexible pay options, with the average salary of an Aslan user being around £50k a year, and many earning over £100k.

James Gozney, Founder and CEO of Aslan: “We are just getting started; Aslan will fundamentally change the way that we all get paid, and how companies reward their people.”

Notion Capital led the funding round with Redstone and several notable angel investors. Stephen Chandler, Managing Partner at Notion, will join the Board.

Stephen Chandler, Managing Partner at Notion Capital, said: “Aslan is bringing a significant innovation to market, in enabling flexible pay and rewards for salaried employees. It provides game-changing benefits for both employers and their staff, and we are excited about its next stage of growth.”

This funding will help it introduce new budgeting, financial education, and rewards features to improve the user experience, increase employee engagement, and grow the team.
