Over sixteen years and four previous funds, Ananda Impact Ventures has built a strong track record in impact investing, including successfully returning its first fund to investors. The fifth fund builds on this experience adopting a long-term investment perspective.

Ananda’s strategy emphasizes systems-level thinking rather than a narrow sector focus. Since 2009 the firm has approached major human, social, and environmental challenges as interconnected, addressing them more effectively through integrated, interdisciplinary solutions. This philosophy guides Ananda’s focus on business models designed to deliver both long-term impact and sustainable financial returns.

The approach is reflected in Ananda’s portfolio, which includes European founders tackling structural societal and environmental challenges. Past investments include OroraTech, IESO, and NatureMetrics, as well as ventures across biology-enabled industry, nature-informed healthcare, and education-driven entrepreneurship, such as Differential Bio, Resistomap and OneDay.

Commenting on the fundraise co-founder Johannes Weber said that Ananda’s strategy reflects a commitment to independent thinking and alignment with founder values noting that consistency in approach has helped differentiate the firm amid shifting venture capital trends.

Co-founder Florian Erber noted that Ananda has built a multidisciplinary team with expertise in science, engineering, and entrepreneurship, allowing the firm to assess challenges at a systems level and work closely with founders.

Through its fifth fund Ananda Impact Ventures aims to continue backing European founders developing scalable technology driven solutions to interconnected social and environmental challenges.
