Alerce acquisition news - Alerce is acquiring WeMob

Alerce is acquiring WeMob, a leading provider of fleet management and telematics SaaS solutions in Iberia. WeMob’s management team will continue to lead the business.

SUMMARY

  • Alerce is acquiring WeMob, a leading provider of fleet management and telematics SaaS solutions in Iberia.
  • Alerce S.A., which was established in 1989, is presently the Parent Company of an International Group that offers services to the logistics sector.

WeMob will be the first bolt-on investment made by Alerce; it will broaden the company's offering of mission-critical SaaS solutions, enhance customer support, and offer cost and environmental efficiency by giving customers more visibility and control over the key transportation workflows connected to the shipment of tangible goods.

The acquisition opens up new prospects for cross-selling and solidifies Alerce's position as Iberia's top supplier of transport and logistics software solutions.

WeMob offers fleet management vital vehicle tracking and monitoring solutions. By providing real-time location, on-board diagnostics, and driver activity data, the company ensures a fleet's safety, economy, and compliance with laws and regulations. Miguel Guerrero launched WeMob in 2014, and since then, it has supported more than 15,000 cars and more than 500 clients. It has also gained the confidence and certification of its partners, keeping an eye on the security of cold-chain maintenance in vital supply chains like the healthcare industry, for instance.

WeMob has grown quickly, recording profitable, double-digit revenue growth over the past few years. Its best-in-class product and market tailwinds, supported by regulatory and ESG reporting requirements, have allowed it to cultivate a devoted customer base with low attrition.

The Pardo family founded Alerce in 1989, and since then, it has grown to become one of the top suppliers of transport management software to Spanish haulage, courier, and carrier companies. In 2023, Oakley and Alerce joined to use both organic growth and bolt-on acquisitions to expedite the company's growth and enable international expansion.

Oakley has a history of growing SaaS companies, which is exemplified by its investments in Iberia, including Grupo Primavera, which was carefully merged with Cegid after an audacious buy-and-build plan.

Alerce CEO Pablo Pardo Garcia added: “This is an exciting investment for Alerce. WeMob’s powerful fleet management and telematics SaaS solutions will help us widen our product offering and deliver greater value to our clients while also positioning Alerce as a dominant presence in the Spanish transport and logistics software market. WeMob’s loyal customer base of over 500 clients demonstrates the Company’s high-quality offering and aligns with Alerce’s customer-first ethos. We look forward to working with Miguel and his team to deliver on our ambitious growth plans.”

WeMob CEO Miguel Guerrero said, “Combining our business with Alerce, in partnership with Oakley, is a great opportunity for WeMob. It exponentially enhances our growth and development opportunities and will empower us to better meet the needs of our clients. It is a decision we have carefully considered, thinking about the end benefits not just for our clients but also our suppliers and employees as well as the future trajectory of our business."
