SUMMARY

  • Adyen is expanding its Adyen Giving donation feature in partnership with adidas, helping the global sports brand support charities like the UN Refugee Agency and Special Olympics.

After successful rollouts in Canada, the United States, and Germany, adidas is now introducing the feature in more European countries, as well as Brazil and Mexico.

Adyen and adidas have worked together on in-store donations since 2023. In the US and Canada alone customers across 216 stores have donated over $1 million to charities such as the Terry Fox Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The program is also active in adidas stores in Germany and continues to expand globally.

Adyen will match all donations made through the platform until the end of the year, increasing the overall impact.

Consumer interest in easy ways to give is growing. Around 30% of people say they feel more motivated to donate, and many prefer small, flexible contributions rather than fixed commitments often leading them to give more over time.

Through Adyen Giving, retailers can enable charity donations directly at checkout, giving customers an easy and transparent way to support causes. Donations go straight to the selected organizations, with Adyen covering all fees and matching contributions made through the platform in 2025 and 2026.

“At adidas, we believe that through sport we have the power to change lives. With Adyen Giving we empower our customers to join us making a positive impact with every purchase,” said Matthias Koeppel, Director Charitable Giving at adidas. “Expanding our collaboration with Adyen allows us to offer millions of shoppers around the world a simple and transparent way to support organizations doing essential work, such as UNHCR and Special Olympics. Together, we aim to make meaningful contributions where they are needed most.”

“Consumers want to make a difference, but they want flexibility in how they give,” said Alexa von Bismarck, President EMEA at Adyen. “Adyen Giving enables exactly that: the ability to donate spontaneously, transparently, and with full trust at the checkout. We are proud to expand our partnership with adidas to make giving easier for millions of customers worldwide, especially at a time when global support for charity organizations like UNHCR is more important than ever.”
