SUMMARY
- uRoutine, the AI-powered productive social network, has raised £555K in a seed round secured in just three weeks.
The funding comes mainly from angel investors who previously backed founders Ed Johnson and Gabriel Sirbu’s venture PushFar, acquired by ScaleUp Capital in June 2023. The app already has 3,500+ users on its waiting list.
The seed round attracted prominent investors, including Timothy Hely Hutchinson CBE (former CEO of Hachette UK), Tom Weldon (CEO of Penguin Books UK), Glynn Woodin (Founder of Mustard Foods and Mustard Catering), and Paddy Dear (Co-Founder of Tetragon Financial Management).
The consumer-focused app tackles productivity and wellbeing challenges heightened by the pandemic and remote work. Users can create, copy, and track routines, connect with friends, family, and experts like healthcare professionals and personal trainers, and stay motivated through shared progress and community encouragement.

uRoutine has attracted over 3,500 pre-registered users between May and July 2025. Dubbed the “productive social network,” the free, global app helps users ‘achieve more and scroll less’ in just five minutes a day. Features include gamification, AI-driven productivity insights, and social tools that foster community support and engagement.
uRoutine will use the funding to enhance platform development, marketing, and both B2C and B2B revenue streams. Long-term plans include a business-focused solution to boost employee productivity and a brand-facing offering that connects companies with consumers actively engaged in habits and routines aligned with their purpose.
Ed Johnson, Co-Founder and CEO of uRoutine said: "The modern social media landscape often leaves people distracted, unfocused, and unmotivated. Closing our round in just three weeks and welcoming thousands of early users tells us there’s a real hunger for a more productive alternative to social media. With uRoutine, we want to give people a platform that genuinely helps them build productive routines and healthy habits, with support from friends, experts and the latest AI-powered tools.
“This funding gives us the opportunity to scale, innovate and make a meaningful impact worldwide. We are thrilled to have the backing of investors who worked alongside us before and saw our last company through to a successful exit. This allows us to focus entirely on delivering value for our users from day one, and turn the appetite we have experienced into lasting influence.”
Tim Hely Hutchinson CBE, investor and former CEO of Hachette UK said: “uRoutine is a platform that is perfectly aligned with the cultural shift towards digital balance, meeting a huge and growing demand for tools that help people use technology more purposefully and productively. An exciting aspect of uRoutine is that it combines social impact with strong commercial potential. It helps people live better, healthier, and more productive lives, while also having a clear path to scale and profitability. Ed and Gabriel have a proven track record in identifying and executing opportunities to build impactful platforms, which I’ve seen first-hand, and I’m delighted to be working with them again.”
