Tandem Bank Appoints Ryan Heaps As New Chief Financial Officer

Since joining Tandem, CEO Neil Chandler has focused on building a strong leadership team to support the bank’s next growth stage.

This includes appointing Ryan as CFO, bringing in Russell Strevens as Chief Technology Officer (subject to regulatory approval), and hiring David Shrimpton Davis as Managing Director of Motor Finance.

Ryan, a chartered accountant with more than 15 years of senior finance experience, joined Tandem in 2022 through the Oplo acquisition, where he had been Head of Finance since 2018.

At Tandem, he has played an important role in shaping the bank’s strategy. His promotion highlights Tandem’s commitment to developing internal talent and building strong future leadership.

With a refreshed leadership team, Tandem enters 2026 with a strong position, managing over £1.5 billion in assets. Since 2019, green and pathway-to-green home improvement lending has grown from £68.2 million to £801.5 million, as the bank continues helping customers make smarter financial choices, support sustainable living, and enhance its products and digital services.
