SUMMARY

  • Stockholm-based Flox, a company using AI to improve how humans and wildlife interact, has raised nearly $1 million in seed funding.

The funding round was led by Unconventional Ventures. Other supporters include Norrsken Accelerate and all of Flox’s previous pre-seed investors, such as Almi Invest, E14 Invest, Argand Partners, and several angel investors.

Nora Bavey, General Partner at Unconventional Ventures, says, “Flox is tackling one of the world’s most overlooked yet urgent challenges; human-wildlife conflict through a highly scalable, tech-driven solution.”

“With a bold vision, deep sector knowledge, and early traction across multiple industries and geographies, the team is poised to transform how we coexist with nature. We’re proud to support Flox on their mission to turn a global problem into a sustainable, cross-border opportunity.”

Flox is a wildlife-intelligence company using AI to understand and respond to animal behaviour. Its Edge sensors run 24/7, sending real-time data to the Flox Wildlife Platform.

Built to support peaceful coexistence between wildlife and humans, the system is used in places like farmlands, runways, railways, and more. It replaces old-fashioned deterrents with smart, data-driven solutions and generates safety and environmental reports to guide action.

The platform was developed over four years, with input from wildlife biologists and industry experts through extensive research and field trials.

This new funding follows the successful launch of Flox’s Edge device. The 2025 production run is already sold out. Edge is an autonomous sensor that connects to the platform and works continuously to support wildlife management in agriculture, aquaculture, rail, and aviation.

Flox is already working with major partners such as WWF, Alstom, Boliden Minerals, GRR Airport, and the Swedish Transport Administration.

Flox will use the funding to scale its technology, promote human-wildlife coexistence at key locations, and expand into the US market. The investment will support commercial growth, further research and development, and be backed by a mix of venture capital, research grants, and revenue from commercial partnerships.

Sara Nozkova, CEO and Co-founder of Flox, says, “Flox is the first company that truly aims to understand and speak the language of wild animals—and that will change everything.”

“With the explosion of AI capabilities, our deep understanding of wildlife behaviour and partnerships with leading wildlife research institutes and NGOs, the timing is perfect. We’re sitting on enormous untapped potential to put AI to good and redefine how industries interact with nature, not just for protection but for real coexistence.”
