Strangeworks, a US-based quantum and high-performance computing software company, has acquired Germany’s Quantagonia.

Founded in 2021 by Dirk Zechiel, Philipp Hannemann, Prof. Sabina Jeschke, and Prof. Sebastian Pokutta, Quantagonia builds AI-powered, quantum-ready planning tools that simplify complex decision-making.

The merger enables enterprises across industries—life sciences, finance, energy, aerospace, logistics, and manufacturing—to solve planning challenges at scale, from scheduling and routing to inventory optimization, making advanced AI accessible to both experts and non-technical users.

Strangeworks’ merger with Quantagonia unlocks new go-to-market opportunities by reaching previously underserved audiences. The combined strengths bring together Quantagonia’s expertise in optimisation, HybridSolver technology, and AI-driven decision-making with Strangeworks’ quantum infrastructure, compute catalogue, and partner ecosystem.

With its recent expansion into India, this acquisition further strengthens Strangeworks’ European presence and accelerates its global growth strategy.
