Starship Technologies Raises $50M Funding

The funding round was led by Plural, with participation from Karma.vc, Latitude, Coefficient Capital, SmartCap (backed by the EU’s NextGenerationEU), and Skaala.

Starship Technologies, which has raised over $280M to date, will use the funding to accelerate U.S. expansion, grow its robot fleet and strengthen partnerships with major retailers seeking reliable autonomous delivery solutions.

Founded in 2014 by Skype co-founders Ahti Heinla and Janus Friis, Starship has completed 9+ million deliveries with 2,700+ robots across 270+ locations in seven countries. The company operates at commercial scale, proving autonomous delivery in European cities and U.S. university campuses.

Key partnerships include Grubhub in the U.S. and European platforms such as Bolt, Wolt, and Foodora.
