Along with the funding, Solarge announced that Bart Meijerink will become its new CEO starting August 1st.
Meijerink has experience in commercial strategy and business growth. He will guide the company as it grows and expands in Europe.
Bart says, “Solarge is uniquely positioned to lead in sustainable solar solutions. I look forward to working with the team to realise our strategic ambitions and contribute meaningfully to a greener future.”
Jan Vesseur, the current CEO and co-founder, will stay connected to Solarge as a shareholder and advisor.
Vesseur mentions, “We’re laying a strong foundation for the future. I’m confident that under Bart’s leadership, Solarge will thrive and accelerate its contribution to the energy transition.”
Solarge says its solar panels are eco-friendly, with low CO2 emissions, no harmful PFAS chemicals, recyclable, and can be customized for partners. With fair prices, Solarge aims to change how solar panels are used worldwide.
The company’s big goal is to help change energy systems. It plans to grow the use of circular solar panels and try new ideas in the solar field. This will support the environment and promote clean energy.
In April 2024, Solarge raised €3 million from impact funds Phase2.earth and Orchard Participations, as well as existing investors like Daan van der Vorm and Sytse Bouwer. Later in August, the Dutch company also got €1.5 million from the Limburg Energy Fund (LEF).
