SUMMARY

  • Mandel AI, a startup based in Sofia that develops AI tools for supply chain coordination, has raised €3.6 million in a Seed funding round.

The platform helps manufacturers manage supplier coordination, identify potential disruptions, and automate procurement processes.

The round was backed by Y Combinator, Category Ventures, Ritual Capital, e2vc, along with several Silicon Valley investors and angel backers.

Founded in 2023, Mandel AI aims to replace the spreadsheets and long email chains that still manage most industrial supply chains. Its technology uses email-based AI to detect supply chain disruptions and capture important supplier updates.

The platform integrates with existing email and ERP systems, using specialized AI agents to read supplier messages, extract key data, reconcile documents such as purchase order confirmations and invoices, and take automated actions. It can follow up with suppliers, flag inconsistencies and escalate issues based on company rules.

According to the company, a single procurement manager using Mandel’s AI agents can now handle tasks that once required a full team reviewing, reconciling, and responding to hundreds of supplier emails each day.

With the new funding, Mandel plans to become a leading API for international trade communication, enabling more autonomous supply chain management for manufacturers and distributors across North America and Europe.

The company says its platform has already processed more than €920 million in material spending for clients in sectors such as aerospace, pharmaceuticals, and industrial manufacturing.

“Every supply chain system was built to track what happened. None were built to read and act on what’s happening right now. Sales has Gong. Legal has Harvey. Finance has Ramp. We built the AI for the people who keep supply chains running,” said Nick Gospodinov, Founder and CEO.
