Resilco funding news - CleanTech Startup Resilco Secures €5 Million in Series A Round Funding

Resilco, a CleanTech startup based in Bergamo, has raised €5 million in Series A funding to turn industrial waste into raw materials for construction, while also storing CO2.

SUMMARY

  • Resilco, a CleanTech startup based in Bergamo, has raised €5 million in Series A funding to turn industrial waste into raw materials for construction, while also storing CO2.
  • Resilco has created an innovative solution to recycle different industrial waste, like fly ash from waste-to-energy plants slag from steel mills, and dust from cleaning fumes, which are usually thrown away in landfills.

The funding round was led by 360 Capital through its ClimateTech fund 360 LIFE II, with support from CDP Venture Capital’s Green Transition Fund – PNRR and Tech4Planet.

The round also included the Parallel Fund LV 360, supported by Lombardia Venture, a regional initiative funded by the European PR FESR 21-27 program and managed by Finlombarda. This new round follows a €1.2 million funding round in 2023, led by Tech4Planet with involvement from FECS Technology Srl.

David Callejo Munoz, CEO of Resilco said, “Reducing landfill disposal, recovering waste, and reintroducing it into the market as recycled materials with permanent CO2 storage are three global challenges we are tackling. We are thrilled about this funding round as it enables us to grow and establish our technology in the market, offering a simple yet effective solution to these pressing issues while meeting the increasing demand for sustainable and alternative industrial waste management solutions”,.

Resilco has created a technology that turns certain types of industrial waste into raw materials for the construction industry, such as mortars, concrete, plaster, resins, and bitumen, while also storing CO2. The company has a small team of around 10 people. From 2023 to 2025, Resilco raised over €6 million in two funding rounds.

Their technology can process various types of industrial waste, like fly ash from waste-to-energy plants, steel slag from steel production, and flue gas dust from other industries. These waste materials are usually sent to landfills but Resilco's technology changes them into useful materials for construction.

This helps avoid landfill waste while storing CO2. Once the materials meet "End of Waste" status, they can be sold and used in construction. The technology speeds up the natural process where CO2 helps turn waste into carbonates, trapping harmful elements in the process.

Resilco believes one of the main benefits of this process is how simple it is. It works at normal temperatures and pressure, uses CO2 as the main ingredient, and turns waste into recycled materials in less than an hour, making it ready for use in construction.

Alessandro Zaccaria, Partner at 360 Capital said, “Resilco is redefining industrial waste management with its patented technology that turns a cost into an opportunity. Resilco’s technology not only drastically reduces the disposal costs of fly ash—resulting in annual savings for utilities in the tens of millions of euros—but also generates new revenue streams and actively contributes to CO2 storage. It’s a sustainable, scalable, and highly profitable business model. We are excited to support the team in their growth and industrialization journey”,.

Claudia Pingue, Senior Partner and Head of the Technology Transfer Fund at CDP Venture Capital said, “Tech4Planet’s mission is to support traditional industries in becoming more competitive by introducing innovative technologies with a strong impact on sustainability and economic potential. In this context, we are pleased to see how Resilco, 18 months after our initial investment has reached an important milestone in its growth journey. Our participation as a follower in this round reaffirms our commitment to supporting their growth and innovation,”.

About Resilco

Resilco has created an innovative solution to recycle different industrial waste, like fly ash from waste-to-energy plants slag from steel mills, and dust from cleaning fumes, which are usually thrown away in landfills. Their method, using accelerated carbonation turns these wastes into recycled materials for construction and road use while safely storing the CO₂ in the process.
