Conrad Kissling, Co-CEO and Co-Founder, Remy, "We are honoured to build upon the remarkable work Kitche has accomplished. Kitche’s mission and the innovative product they developed deeply impressed us. When the opportunity arose to acquire Kitche, we saw a chance to leverage their strong foundation to improve our offering and grow our user base within Remy, advancing their vision with next-generation technology to drive even greater impact for households and the planet."
It is the new AI-driven, fully automated digital kitchen management app, enabling users to drastically reduce their food waste while saving time and money. The app enables users to know what food they have, when it expires, and what they can make with it, while automatically buying anything that’s missing directly from their smartphones.
Lynsey Scott, Co-Founder of Kitche said, "We couldn’t be prouder of the impact we’ve made and what we’ve achieved with Kitche,"
Alex Vlassopulos, Co-Founder of Kitche said, "We believe Remy will take our mission to the next level and ensure that Kitche’s vision will not only live on but thrive in a whole new way. This is an amazing opportunity to continue Kitche’s vision into the AI era,’ ‘The problem of home food waste is worsening in the UK but we believe AI and Remy’s passion for tackling food waste make them the perfect fit to carry our work forward, using AI to help people save time, money, and food."
Kitche has empowered tens of thousands of households across the UK to reduce food waste, save money, and it has made a positive impact since 2018.
It has also partnered with councils across the UK to promote food waste prevention and, in 2024, collaborated with Coop Supermarkets, the first such partnership between a supermarket and a home food waste app, thus helping Remy develop its partnership network and solidify itself as the UK’s leading home food waste prevention app.
Adds Conrad Kissling, "Kitche’s mission to prevent home food waste in the UK will live on. Remy is committed to carrying forward and expanding its impact, ensuring both companies’ shared vision continues to drive meaningful change. Although Kitche’s independent journey is ending, its legacy will thrive as part of Remy. This transition reflects a shared belief that small, meaningful changes at home can greatly impact the planet."
