SUMMARY

  • Munich-based software company Remberg has raised €15 million in a Series A+ round to expand across Europe and improve its AI-powered maintenance platform.

The platform helps industrial companies reduce costly unplanned machine downtime. The funding round was led by Acton Capital (Munich) and Oxx (London), with support from existing investors Earlybird, Speedinvest, and Fly Ventures.

“We are building the leading maintenance platform in the AI era to safeguard the competitiveness of the European industrial sector,” says David Hahn, CEO and Co-founder of remberg.

Remberg has raised €28 million so far and serves over 150 customers, including Würth Group, SCHUNK, Brandt Zwieback-Schokoladen, Edding, and Minimax Fire Solutions, managing over 1 million assets through its platform.

Philip Edmondson-Jones, Partner Oxx adds: “remberg is fast becoming an indispensable system of record for the maintenance departments of Europe’s forward-thinking industrial companies. We’re thrilled to support their team to bring remberg’s market leading AI-capabilities across the continent.”

According to Siemens' "The True Cost of Downtime Report 2024," unplanned machine downtime costs European industrial companies around €500 billion in lost revenue each year. Many mid-sized companies still rely on outdated or manual maintenance processes, making them inefficient — as noted by remberg.

Remberg addresses this challenge with a scalable, mobile, AI-powered maintenance platform that integrates easily with existing IT systems.

It streamlines workflows, even for companies already using other maintenance tools. If a machine breaks down, operators can simply scan a QR code to access remberg’s built-in AI assistant, which provides troubleshooting guidance based on the machine's history and data — helping fix issues faster.

“Europe’s industrial sector needs homegrown solutions. We can’t afford to hand over this software category to the US – especially when it involves the backbone of our economy: manufacturing, industrial assets, and sensitive data. That’s where remberg comes in,” says Hahn.

According to remberg, digital maintenance platforms like MaintainX have gained quick traction in the US, but Europe still lacks a similar modern, AI-powered solution.

“The AI focus, mobile accessibility, and seamless integration of remberg’s maintenance software into existing IT-systems gives industrial companies a competitive edge—especially when it comes to reducing unplanned downtime,” says remberg customer Markus Kleiner, Managing Director at H.-D. SCHUNK GmbH & Co.

With the new funding, remberg plans to speed up AI-based product development, including features for predictive maintenance, and expand its sales and presence across key European markets.

Julius Lühr, Partner at Acton Capital in Munich adds: “remberg helps European industry to optimise its operations. In the current geopolitical situation, machine availability and competitive costs are more important than ever – remberg provides the digital infrastructure for this.”
