Praveen Kumar Raises £400,k from the Investment Fund for Scotland (IFS). The Perth-headquartered producer of Indian ready meals plans to use the funding to expand distribution to both new and existing retailers and local independent stores.

As Curry Club expands across the country, the funds will also help Praveen Kumar's sales and marketing department grow. The southern Indian couple Praveen and Swarna Kumar founded the frozen curry brand. It is available for purchase directly online and through a number of UK farm stores and merchants, such as Asda and House of Bruar. The investment was made through the Maven Capital Partners-managed equity finance vehicle of the British Business Bank.

Praveen Kumar is a chef and entrepreneur who has won awards. His restaurant "Tabla" in Perth was the first Indian restaurant in Scotland to receive an AA One Rosette. He has won other honours, including "Chef of the Year" at the Asian Restaurant honours 2020. Following up on this success, Praveen opened his acclaimed Indian prepare School, where he teaches people how to prepare traditional Indian food to all skill levels.
