SUMMARY
- Oxford Medical Simulation (OMS), a UK startup providing clinical simulation solutions to healthcare and academic institutions, has raised €5.78 million (£5 million) in growth funding from Salica Investments, a UK-based firm supporting high-growth companies across Europe.
The funding will help OMS expand into U.S. health systems and academic institutions, invest in AI-driven scenarios, learning analytics, and workflow tools, and enhance the infrastructure needed for safer, more effective clinical training.
Founded in 2017 by Michael Wallace and Dr. Jack Pottle, Oxford Medical Simulation (OMS) creates and delivers virtual reality healthcare training. Partnering with hospitals, health systems, and universities worldwide, OMS provides AI-driven simulations that let clinicians and students practice realistic clinical scenarios anytime, anywhere.

Using VR headsets, learners engage in fully interactive scenarios, receive personalized feedback, and can repeat exercises to improve their skills.
In 2024, OMS completed a €10.9 million ($12.6 million) Series A funding round led by Frog Capital, following €2.4 million in earlier funding from ACF Investors.
Salica, originally focused on high-potential startups, has evolved into a diversified investment firm managing private market funds in equity and debt across multiple sectors, primarily in the UK.
“This financing allows us to invest confidently in the next phase of OMS. Our partners in US healthcare and academia are focused on outcomes – safer practice, better-prepared staff and more efficient delivery. This growth capital from Salica means we can move faster on exactly those priorities: expanding our breadth and depth of content, deepening our analytics capabilities, and supporting more institutions to transform their training for the new generation of learners,” said Michael Wallace, CEO of Oxford Medical Simulation.
“Oxford Medical Simulation is exactly the type of business we look to support. The team has built a differentiated platform, proven at scale, and is working with leading health systems and universities to address a critical need: giving clinicians and students the chance to practise safely,” said Usman Ali, Partner at one of the funds at Salica.
