Nuuri Secures £275K In Pre-Seed Round To Simplify Nursery Search And Enrolment

Founded by working dad Steven Clarke, Nuuri was born out of his frustrating experience trying to find a nursery for his daughter — from unreachable centres and poor online info to long waitlists and cancelled visits.

Launched in December 2024, the platform is now live across Scotland, England, and Wales. Often called the “Rightmove for nurseries,” Nuuri helps parents search by postcode, child’s age and start date. It also offers features like virtual tours, room availability, cost calculators, and a helpful advice hub.

This advice section guides parents on everything from funding options to choosing the right nursery and handling long waitlists.

Nuuri also supports nurseries by reducing their admin burden. With its digital tools and streamlined enrolment process, nursery staff can focus more on caring for children and less on paperwork.

Nuuri closed its oversubscribed funding round in just 90 days — a month ahead of schedule. The startup is part of Tech Scaler, a Scottish Government-backed accelerator programme.

The funds will help Nuuri fast-track product development, with a focus on AI tools to replace outdated manual processes and communication methods.

It will also enhance the parent experience, improve nursery marketing, and streamline onboarding across the UK’s private nursery sector.
