Belgian biotech company Novadip Biosciences has raised €10.4 million (around $12 million) through a convertible financing round. The company is a late-stage clinical biotech focused on developing treatments in regenerative medicine.

SUMMARY

  • Novadip Biosciences raised €10.4 million in a convertible financing round.
  • New Science Ventures led the funding round.
  • Existing investors including Fund+, Wallonie Entreprendre, VIVES Fund, and Sambrinvest also participated.
  • Founded in 2013, Novadip grew out of research at Université Catholique de Louvain and St. Luc University Hospital.

The funding round was led by New Science Ventures, a US-based investment firm. The new funding will support Novadip as it continues developing its regenerative medicine treatments and advances its clinical work.

Several of Novadip’s existing investors also joined the round. These include Fund+, Wallonie Entreprendre, VIVES Fund, ORSA Tech, Sambrinvest, Noshaq, and Invest.BW.

“This financing is a strong vote of confidence from our investors, and I’d like to thank them for their ongoing support. This is an important step forward for Novadip. It provides the resources to advance NVD003 through several major clinical and regulatory milestones, including the completion of our pivotal Phase 3 program in congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia and the preparation for regulatory submission in the United States,” said Dr. Denis Dufrane, founder and CEO of Novadip.

“With a pivotal Phase 3 program underway, regulatory preparation advancing and a significant commercial opportunity, Novadip is entering a critical value-creating period. This financing provides the means to execute on these priorities and prepare the business for its next stage of development,” said Eric Pâques, Chairman of the Board.

Novadip Biosciences was founded in Belgium in 2013. The company was created as a spin-off from Université Catholique de Louvain and St. Luc University Hospital. It grew from research led by its founder Dr. Dufrane.

Novadip has developed its own technology platform called 3M³. The platform uses stem cells taken from body fat and places them within a three-dimensional structure that helps create new tissue.

The technology is being developed to help repair large bone defects, difficult-to-heal fractures, and spinal fusion cases. The goal is to provide these treatments through a single medical procedure.
