Nido funding news - Madrid-based Nido Secures €5 Million in Seed Funding

Madrid-based Nido, a platform focused on improving the design, commercialization, and installation of heat pump systems for homes, has raised €5 million in its Seed funding round.

SUMMARY

  • Madrid-based Nido, a platform focused on improving the design, commercialization, and installation of heat pump systems for homes, has raised €5 million in its Seed funding round.
  • Founded in 2023 by German Peralta, Julien Poitout, Matthieu Heusch, and Pedro Pablo Aparicio, Nido is simplifying heat pump installation in homes, making it easier and more affordable for people to switch to clean heating and cooling.

The investment came from notable backers like Iberdrola, Ship2B Ventures, Zubi Labs, Decelera Ventures, Silence VC, and institutions such as the Instituto Valenciano de Finanzas (IVF), the city of Valencia, and ENISA, along with 15 business angels.

This funding will help Nido expand its digital solutions to speed up and streamline the heat pump installation process, making it easier for homes to transition to clean energy.

Germán Peralta, CEO of Nido said, “This investment is a major step toward our goal of democratising access to heat pumps in Europe, We will focus on integrating artificial intelligence into our platform, expanding our engineering team, and optimizing our marketplace to more efficiently connect installers, suppliers, and customers. We want to be the key technology partner in the transition to a more sustainable future.”

Nido uses 3D modeling (BIM) technology to automatically create material lists and installation guides in seconds. This cuts down execution times by up to 75%, allowing companies to offer heat pump solutions faster and more accurately.

Óscar Cantalejo, Head of Perseo, Iberdrola’s open innovation programme said, “At Perseo, we seek innovative startups that help accelerate the energy transition. Nido is a great partner, demonstrating that technology can be key in bringing more efficient and sustainable solutions to homes—solutions that have a real and measurable impact on decarbonization, such as heat pumps,”.

The platform has a marketplace that connects installers directly with heat pump suppliers, making it easier to buy equipment. It also has automated tools that create project designs, including plumbing and electrical plans, using BIM modeling.

AI tools help installers in real-time and improve project designs. Plus, built-in financial and admin solutions make it easier for customers to access and adopt this technology.

Jaime de Antonio, Investment Manager at Ship2B Ventures, an impact fund manager focused on Climate Change, Quality of Life, and Education said, “We invested in Nido because of its holistic approach to heat pump installations, driving energy efficiency in homes and generating a systemic impact in the transition toward a more sustainable and resilient model. Additionally, we are excited to support them in their expansion across Europe,”.

With this investment, Nido aims to become a major player in the energy transition in Spain and other European countries like France and Germany. The company is inviting energy firms, installers and partners to join their mission for a more sustainable future.
