Nearby Computing Secures €680K Investment to Expand Cloud-to-Edge Platform

Nearby Computing, a deeptech company that helps manage cloud and edge computing systems, has secured a €680,000 investment from the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT). The investment is part of a larger €1.4 million financing round.

SUMMARY

  • €680,000 investment from SETT, part of a €1.4 million financing round.
  • Nearby Computing, a deeptech company focused on cloud-to-edge infrastructure.
  • Helps companies automate and manage infrastructure across different sites, cloud providers, and vendors.

The company will use the funding to support its continued growth and further develop NearbyOne.

NearbyOne is a platform that allows businesses to manage and control distributed cloud-to-edge environments from a single place.

“Every enterprise we work with is dealing with the same shift: infrastructure that used to sit in one place now runs across sites, clouds, and vendors, and managing it one piece at a time doesn't scale anymore,” said Josep Marti, Chief Executive Officer of Nearby Computing.

As IT systems become more spread out across factories, retail stores, energy infrastructure, and telecom networks, businesses need a simple way to manage everything from one place.

Nearby’s platform allows organisations to manage these different environments through a single control system. It can set up, update, and maintain infrastructure automatically based on company policies, reducing the need for manual work at each location.

The platform is also vendor-neutral, meaning it can work with different hardware providers, cloud services, network systems, and AI technologies. This allows companies to keep using their existing technology and change vendors later without major system changes.

Nearby’s platform is also designed to keep critical operations running during outages. If the connection to the cloud or central system goes down, important workloads can continue running locally at the edge, helping reduce disruptions to business operations.
