SUMMARY

  • Drinks startup MISSION has raised £2 million in its fundraising round, including investment from F1 driver Pierre Gasly.
  • Mission is a fast-growing startup helping people achieve more than they thought possible.

It is a company that makes natural energy drinks and performance teas. They offer 100% natural, zero-sugar, and zero-sweetener drinks, both hot and cold. The company was founded by Tom, who left his law career in 2016 to cycle 12,500 km across South America.

During his ride, Tom struggled with energy slumps from caffeine and sugar in traditional energy drinks and coffee. He discovered that a mix of Yerba Maté and Green Tea gave him the natural energy boost he needed.

Feeling inspired by the energy boost, Tom worked with nutrition experts from Oxford University and top tea blenders to create a line of all-natural performance teas. After breaking a world record by running 17 marathons in 10 days across Iceland, fueled by his blends, it was founded.

Since starting in 2019, it has sold over 10 million drinks and gained more than 100,000 customers. The drinks are popular among top athletes and sports teams, including F1 driver Pierre Gasly, and are approved by Premier League football clubs and England’s cricket team.

According to Tom Whittle, founder of MISSION: “For too long, the energy drinks market has been dominated by brands that offer drinks laden with sugar, caffeine and artificial sweeteners. MISSION is changing this for the better and shaking up an entire industry."
