Matchory funding news - Ulm-based ProcureTech Startup Matchory Secures €6 Million in a Seed-extension Round Funding

Ulm-based ProcureTech startup Matchory has raised €6 million in a Seed-extension round to support its international growth and expand its supplier database.

SUMMARY

  • Ulm-based ProcureTech startup Matchory has raised €6 million in a Seed-extension round to support its international growth and expand its supplier database.
  • Matchory is also part of the Factory-X project, which works to fully digitize supply chains, create industry standards, and secure funding for these advancements.

The round was led by Munich-based VC firm Capmont, with support from existing investors Earlybird-X and industry angel investors.

Aiko Wiegand, Co-founder and CEO of Matchory says: “Transparency in the supply chain is becoming a key success factor for companies to make efficient and sustainable decisions when manufacturing products and selecting suitable suppliers. Therefore, the rapid availability of information about supply chains and individual suppliers is crucial to a company’s success. The fresh capital will enable us to further develop our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution, integrate additional data sources and offer exciting new features.”

It has created an AI-powered platform that gathers supplier information from the supply chain and makes it available for strategic procurement. The cloud-based software simplifies the global supplier search and is used by companies like DMG Mori, Tesa, Bosch, and Jungheinrich.

It claims to be the first to bring all manufacturers together in one platform. Their AI models and web scraping tools keep the data updated and enriched.

The platform’s database includes over 14 million supplier profiles and covers more than 98% of key global manufacturers. Matchory says this broad data access can reduce production costs by up to 50% and help manage the increasing complexity of purchasing.

Factors like risks, quality standards, time-to-market, ESG compliance, innovation, and relocation affect how companies choose suppliers. Matchory helps digitize procurement processes, making them more adaptable to market changes.

This is especially important for nearshoring and moving supply chains to address geopolitical and environmental challenges.

Dr. Matthias Roth, Capmont Partner, shares: “We are convinced that Matchory has the right solution on the market at the right time to address the key needs of global companies and ensure reliable supply chains. We are delighted to be part of this exciting development.”
