Madrid-based Anyformat raises €3.3 million to scale its agentic OCR and privacy-focused document tools

Anyformat, a Spanish GenAI platform that extracts and organises complex data from any type of document, has raised €3.3 million in a Seed funding round. The money will help the company grow its engineering and product teams, improve its advanced data-extraction tools, and develop its own error-detection models.
SUMMARY
- Anyformat is a Spanish tech startup that offers a generative AI platform to extract and organise data from unstructured documents.
The funding round was led by Kibo Ventures, with additional investment from 4Founders, Abac Nest Ventures, and Decelera Ventures — all of whom had also invested in the company’s earlier round.
Juan Huguet, CEO and co-founder of Anyformat, says, “Documents are the backbone of any organisation. Our goal is to enable companies to analyse them with human intelligence, machine speed and the security required by regulation. We are building the new European document infrastructure.‘
In Europe, funding for startups working on document processing, data extraction, and AI-powered automation has been limited in 2025, but still noteworthy. French startup Klaimy raised €1.2 million to improve its AI assistant for medical documents, and Prague-based Resistant AI raised €21 million in a Series B round to boost its fraud-detection and financial-crime prevention tools.

Together, these raises total around €22.2 million. This shows that investors are mainly backing specialised solutions — like tools for insurance, medical underwriting, and fraud detection — rather than broad, general-purpose document-processing platforms.
Within this space, Anyformat’s €3.3 million Seed round stands out. It is one of the few European startups building a wide-ranging, generative-AI document-intelligence platform. It is also notable as the only Spain-based company raising funds in this category so far, giving it an important role in Europe’s growing document-automation ecosystem.
Diego Pérez, co-founder and CTO of the company, adds: “We are developing technology that goes far beyond document digitisation.”
Founded in 2024, Anyformat is building a new kind of document-handling technology using generative AI. The company says this lets large organisations process complex documents with the accuracy of a human but the speed of a machine — all while keeping full control of their data.
After raising €520k in its earlier pre-Seed round (covered by EU-Startups), Anyformat has expanded its tools beyond simple data extraction. Today, the company says it is the only platform that can combine information extracted from a document with a company’s internal data in real time.
This means documents like contracts, invoices, or emails can be analysed automatically and instantly checked against internal databases — such as customer records, policy details, product catalogues, or historical data.
For companies dealing with lots of complicated documents and disconnected systems, this feature removes the need for manual checks, reduces mistakes, and speeds up important business processes.
This addresses a major challenge: Dell Technologies’ Innovation Catalyst report says that 68% of Spanish companies cannot turn their data into useful, real-time information.
“The document intelligence market is entering a new phase driven by generative AI and agentic systems. Anyformat has developed a unique technology that allows companies to automate critical processes while maintaining data sovereignty, a key issue in Europe.
“The vision and talent of the founders, whom we know from their time at Clarity.ai, a company also invested in by Kibo Ventures, combined with the possibilities offered by AI in a huge market, were key factors in our decision to invest,” shares Javier Torremocha, co-founder and Managing Partner of Kibo Ventures.
Anyformat plans to surpass €1 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) by 2026. This growth will come from expanding across Europe and from more companies using its tools for automation, compliance, and advanced document processing.
The company also plans to keep investing in its privacy-focused infrastructure by improving security measures and working toward certifications like ISO 27001.
With these efforts, Anyformat aims to make its Agentic OCR the new standard for automating important business processes where accuracy and data control are essential.
