LYB will satisfy the needs of consumers and brand owners by expanding the APK's distinctive solvent-based technology for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) in order to create innovative, high-purity materials for flexible packaging for personal care goods.

Hard-to-recycle flexible plastic waste products, which now account for the majority of the consumer sector's mixed plastic trash, are the focus of LYB's recycling initiative. The output will be offered for sale under LYB's Circulen brand.

This technology complements our excellent mechanical recycling technology, as well as our proprietary advanced recycling technology. We see this as a crucial addition to our portfolio on our journey to a circular economy, helping end plastic waste.

Together with German Chancellor Scholz, LYB set the cornerstones for its first industrial-scale MoReTec catalytic advanced recycling plant in Wesseling on September 19.
