SUMMARY

  • Camera Intelligence, a UK-based company developing AI-powered camera systems for content creators and businesses, has announced the close of a €1.7 million seed funding round.

Several venture firms, including Betaworks, F4 Fund, Next Wave through Flybridge, 7pc Ventures, and Digital Catapult, joined this funding round. The money will help Camera Intelligence speed up development of its AI-powered camera and content editing tools.

"Producing engaging, high-quality content is a necessity for solo creators and small businesses – but they are already stretched thin and juggling multiple business demands. Content creation tools are fragmented, and users producing social media content for the first time struggle with steep learning curves for both mirrorless camera operation and editing software," said Vishal Kumar, CEO of Camera Intelligence.

Founded in 2021, Camera Intelligence is creating a smart, AI-powered mirrorless camera that links to smartphones and features a built-in AI assistant. This funding helps the company simplify content creation, making high-quality production easier for creators and businesses.

Soon, users will be able to control camera settings using voice commands no more digging through menus. The AI assistant can also handle local editing tasks like colour grading and choosing visual styles.

By leveraging cutting-edge AI chips commonly found in smartphones, Camera Intelligence has built a fully integrated tech stack that lets them quickly develop and embed new AI capabilities directly into their hardware.

“We are thrilled to support Camera Intelligence in their mission to democratise professional content creation,” said Jordan Crook, Partner from Betaworks. “Their innovative approach to integrating AI into the camera workflow has the potential to transform how creators and businesses produce content.”

This funding round marks another key step in Camera Intelligence’s journey to reinvent the camera—not just as a tool, but as an intelligent creative partner. The company is transforming traditional cameras from passive devices into active, AI-driven collaborators.

Camera Intelligence plans to launch its LLM-powered features for iOS users in autumn 2025.

Susan Bowen, CEO of Digital Catapult, said: “As part of our focus on supporting the best and brightest UK deep tech companies to scale, this investment further enables a breakthrough solution harnessing AI and advanced imaging technology to drive deeper innovation in the creator economy.

“As demand for high-quality content creation methods increases, innovative startups like Camera Intelligence deliver scalable, industry-ready solutions which empower creators and transform digital media production.”
