SUMMARY
- Lendurai, a dual-use tech startup developing autonomous solutions for drones in GPS- and radio-denied zones, has raised €5.57 million in seed funding from Expeditions Fund, HCVC, and Vsquared Ventures.
Founded by Siim Maivel, Mark Cowan, and Sergii Kharagorgiiev—alumni of Bolt, Open Cosmos, and Starship Technologies—the team brings strong expertise in AI, autonomy, and scalable hardware.
Lendurai's on-board system delivers high-end autonomous navigation at a fraction of the traditional cost by using off-the-shelf hardware and tailoring tech to mission needs. Built for NATO and allied forces, the platform allows GPS-independent operations and supports interchangeable payloads for greater mission flexibility and resilience.

Its proprietary AI autonomy stack runs fully on-board, enabling powerful, compact, and adaptable drone capabilities in even the most complex environments.
FPV (First-Person View) drones may seem cost-effective, but they usually require large support teams—typically four operators on-site and another eight technicians and engineers for prep. Despite this, nearly 70% fail in the field due to radio jamming.
Lendurai solves this with autonomous systems that reduce total ownership costs and keep operating even in signal-denied zones. As GPS jamming and electronic warfare become common—especially near Europe’s eastern borders—industries like energy and agriculture increasingly need drones that can function independently and reliably.
Tested in real conflict environments, Lendurai’s UAVs need less than two days of training for operators, compared to the typical eight weeks for FPV systems. Built in Estonia using European components, the drones are fully NDAA-compliant and ready for NATO and other defense missions, with commercial availability coming soon.
According to Siim Maivel, Co-Founder and CEO of Lendurai, European defence can’t wait. “At Lendurai, we’re building high-performance autonomous solutions that are reliable, scalable, and combat-proven.
Our on-board autonomy enhances every drone’s capabilities, enabling them to think faster, react smarter, and deliver reliable effects—even in the most challenging electronic warfare environments.”
Mikolaj Firlej, Co-Founder and General Partner at Expeditions Fund, says that although there are many drone makers out there, only a handful truly stand out with unique capabilities.
“Often, end-users must choose between cost efficiency and high performance. Lendurai stands apart by delivering advanced computer vision for GNSS-denied environments at a fraction of the market price.
The team brings deep technical expertise, a strong understanding of end-user needs, and a rapid product development cycle. We’re excited to support Lendurai’s go-to-market strategies and global expansion."
According to Alexandre Flamant, Partner at HCVC: “Europe can’t wait for help. Lendurai delivers the autonomy layer our drones desperately need—cost-efficient, GPS-free, and sovereign by design.”
