SUMMARY
- Kinematic Trees has raised £585,000 in a pre-seed funding round.
- The funding will accelerate the development of its robot-agnostic software platform and expand its engineering and commercial teams.
- Kinematic Trees aims to make robots easier to deploy and use by solving software integration challenges.
The investment was backed by Haatch through its SEIS Fund, the D2N2 Early-Stage Angel Investment Fund, and the British Business Bank (BBB) Syndicate Fund. The funding will also help Kinematic Trees grow its commercial and engineering teams.
According to CEO Dr. Stuart Wilson, recent improvements in robotics hardware and artificial intelligence (AI) have made robots more affordable. However, software is still one of the biggest challenges preventing businesses from using robots more widely.
"Our robot-agnostic intelligence layer provides the software foundation to make robots more useful, adaptable and safe, while allowing advanced control systems and expertise to be reused across different hardware platforms", he said.
