SUMMARY

  • Turin-based EdTech startup Wibo has raised €500,000 to strengthen its position in the Italian market, expand training programs with new AI-focused content, and further develop its proprietary technology.

Wibo helps companies grow by enhancing their internal skills through executive-led learning paths. The funding round was led by a group of prominent business leaders, many of whom have previously taught at Wibo as Executive Teachers.

Notable names include Simone Cimminelli (angel investor), Andrea Incondi (VP Europe South at Flix), Lorenzo Lagorio (Italy Country Manager at easyJet), Elena Mirandola (ex-CEO of F.C. Como Women), Giacomo Trovato (CEO of Genertel), Duccio Vitali (Founder & CEO of Alkemy), Oscar Farinetti (Founder of Eataly), and Marco Fassone (former CEO of Milan, Napoli, and Juventus, now Business Advisor at Wibo).

The round also saw participation from Talent Garden and continued support from VC fund Techstars, which had previously invested in Wibo.

“Our vision is to help organisations, teams, and individuals successfully navigate the future of work by combining human and tech skills,” explain Co-founders Tommaso Seita and Alessandro Busso. “We do this through a unique training model that allows people to learn from international executives by blending live sessions, exercises, and practical tools. With this round, we will expand our team with 5 new hires over the next three months, bring in high-profile talent in the field of artificial intelligence, and develop a proprietary platform to further enhance the learning experience”.

Wibo’s training model blends two key dimensions: human skills like leadership, communication, and team management, and technological skills with a focus on practical, conscious use of AI.

The company has already collaborated with over 150 corporates and multinationals—including Unicredit, Petronas, Huawei, Crédit Agricole, and Amazon—training more than 14,500 people in Italy and abroad. Wibo aims to deliver upskilling and leadership programs that make learning both memorable and directly applicable to daily work.

“I saw extraordinary potential in Wibo from the very beginning. After collaborating as an Executive Teacher, investing in their growth was the natural next step,” says Andrea Incondi, investor and VP Europe South at Flix “I truly believe in the Founders, Tommaso and Alessandro, and their young, ambitious team that dared to innovate a traditional sector with a solid, scalable business model capable of creating real impact in today’s fast-changing work environment”.

Wibo believes corporate training needs a major overhaul. Traditional methods are often seen as disconnected and ineffective—research shows that 90% of what’s learned is forgotten within a week (according to the Forgetting Curve), and 60% of HR leaders say the lack of effective training paths hinders managerial development (Gartner).

To change this, Wibo offers experiential, business-driven learning led by executives who live the business every day. Programs begin with live sessions featuring leaders from companies like Nike, Amazon, Google, Spotify, Airbnb, and Uber, who share real-world insights.

These insights are then brought to life through simulations, role-plays, exercises, and guided reflections led by trainers with strong corporate experience. Each module ends with “Sparks”—clear, actionable steps participants can apply immediately in their work.

“Today’s corporate training is still seen as flat, boring, uninspiring and most importantly, ineffective. It often lacks real business context, as it is typically created by professional trainers who have never experienced company life from the inside,” continue the Founders. “That’s why Wibo helps companies bridge the gap between human and AI skills, combining leadership, communication, and team management with the practical, conscious adoption of artificial intelligence. Our model is simple yet powerful: humans superpowering humans. We use real-world experience to make learning a true driver of business success”.

Wibo’s team has grown to 15 members, marking a 50% increase since early 2024. The company plans to hire five more people over the next three months in product, tech, and customer success roles.

Wibo has also opened pre-registrations for free access to its first Wibo Humans+AI Mini-Academy.

About Wibo
