SUMMARY
- French quantum hardware startup Isentroniq has raised €7.5 million in a funding round led by Heartcore, with participation from OVNI Capital, Kima Ventures, iXcore, Better Angle, Epsilon VC, and support from Bpifrance and the French National Research Agency (ANR) under the France 2030 program.
Quantum computing could transform industries such as medicine, energy, and logistics, but creating large-scale systems is very difficult. Millions of qubits are needed to manage errors, yet superconducting qubits are limited by cryogenic wiring. Systems over ~100 qubits face heat and space challenges, and scaling to 1 million qubits with current technology would require enormous facilities and tens of billions of euros.
Isentroniq addresses heat, cost, and space bottlenecks, aiming to enable up to 1,000× more qubits in existing dilution refrigerators. Its long-term goal is to reduce the cost of a 1 million-qubit system to ~€50 million. Operating a fabless model, Isentroniq designs its architecture and outsources fabrication to specialized partners, accelerating time-to-market, limiting capex, and ensuring industrial-grade quality.

Today, wiring is the #1 bottleneck to scale superconducting quantum computers. Our mission is to turn it into an accelerator, said Paul Magnard, co-founder and CEO.
Isentroniq was co-founded by Magnard, a superconducting qubits expert with a PhD from ETH Zurich and former lead architect at Alice & Bob, and Théodore Amar, a second-time founder with experience at Bain & Company and Hilti.
The announcement comes as major players including Google, IBM, Amazon, IQM, Alice & Bob, and Rigetti advance toward 100,000 to 1 million qubits.
The new funding will support development of Isentroniq’s wiring technology, expansion of the team, and building partnerships to deliver a plug-and-play solution for scalable quantum systems.
