Ireland-Based TeamFeePay Secures £9M Funding

The round was led by YFM Equity Partners and the Investment Fund for Northern Ireland (IFNI), managed by Clarendon Fund Managers, with additional participation from Techstart and a group of private investors.

TeamFeePay was founded in 2021 by Liam McStravick, who brings over two decades of grassroots coaching experience at clubs including Cliftonville, Linfield and Ballyclare Comrades.

The company was created to address administrative challenges faced by coaches such as managing player fees that can take time away from coaching.

The company has developed a software platform that helps grassroots football clubs and coaches manage fixtures, training sessions, events, attendance and administrative tasks, keeping teams organised while allowing coaches to focus on on-field activities.

Commenting on the investment, Liam McStravick, CEO and co-founder of TeamFeePay, said the funding will support the company’s mission to modernise grassroots football operations across the UK, Ireland and Europe, reducing administrative workloads and enabling clubs to operate more efficiently and sustainably.

Over the next two years, we will be increasing our presence on the ground, investing in new technology, and continuing to improve the service and club development support provided by our expert team, McStravick added.

TeamFeePay will use the new investment to drive growth across the UK, expand further into Europe, and enhance product development. The company also plans to create up to 75 new roles over the next two years in sales, marketing and product development across the UK and Europe.
