SUMMARY

  • Dublin-based Rekord has secured $2.1 million in pre-seed funding to develop its AI-native credit decisioning platform.

The round was led by Point Nine Capital, with support from Octopus Ventures, Hello World, Baseline, and angel investors including Mambu co-founder Eugene Danilkis.

Founded in 2024 by longtime friends Christopher Lynch (CEO) and Mark Noone (CTO), Rekord was inspired by their 2023 home-buying experiences, which were slow, manual and confusing. Drawing on their AWS infrastructure expertise, they aim to modernize how lenders manage regulation, risk, and customer expectations.

Global lending continues to grow, with over $10 trillion in mortgages, SME loans and consumer credit originated annually, projected to reach $15 trillion by 2028. Europe accounts for $4 trillion, the US $2.5–$3 trillion, yet origination remains manual and fragmented. Generative AI advances bring opportunities and regulatory scrutiny on explainability, bias, and consumer protection, making safe, compliant AI deployment crucial.

Rekord tackles this by integrating core banking and loan-origination systems with external data like credit bureaus and open banking. Its AI-native, API-first platform automates fragmented processes, enabling lenders to design, test, and deploy fully automated workflows across mortgages, SME, and consumer credit, reducing manual work, speeding cycle times, and allowing teams to focus on complex cases.

Lenders are under real pressure to reduce costs while meeting growing expectations for efficiency and service, said Christopher Lynch.

Rekord can reduce the manual work in credit origination by up to 80 per cent, freeing teams to focus on customers and complex cases while ensuring decisions remain compliant and explainable.

Over the next six months, Rekord plans to onboard new design partners, expand throughout the EU and UK, and scale its team to meet growing demand. The company is also launching pilot programs with select institutions to showcase how its platform can reduce operating costs and enhance the customer experience.
