ingarden funding news - Foodtech Startup ingarden Secures €1.2 Million in Seed Extension Funding

Berlin-based foodtech startup ingarden has raised €1.2 million in a seed extension to help fight nutrient deficiencies with its innovative NutriMed™ technology.

SUMMARY

  • Berlin-based foodtech startup ingarden has raised €1.2 million in a seed extension to help fight nutrient deficiencies with its innovative NutriMed™ technology.
  • Ingarden creates smart home gardens for people who struggle to get the nutrients they need because of busy lifestyles and reliance on processed foods.

The funding round was led by key players in the food industry, including Gemüsering Stuttgart GmbH, a company focused on fresh, sustainable produce.

Other investors include the founders of Ankerkaut and Invincible Brands, as well as the CEO of Kitchen Stories. Many existing investors also participated again.

Christian Saitner, Co-founder and CEO of ingarden said, “We are combating nutrient deficiencies with our self-developed and GMO-free NutriMed™ technology, With our seed pads, you can grow nutrient-optimized mini-vegetables in automated cultivation systems right in the kitchen.”

The startup’s main product is a fully automated mini-garden for home kitchens, which lets users grow and harvest fresh, vitamin-packed produce in just seven days.

Ingarden says many consumers are unhappy with the taste and nutritional quality of store-bought produce. In Germany, studies show that 79% of men and 65% of women have a vitamin B9 deficiency, and 75% of women have an iron deficiency.

He explained that ingarden’s technology ensures seeds are packed with natural, bioavailable nutrients, offering real health benefits in a sustainable way. The system avoids using synthetic vitamins and packaging waste focusing on high-quality, long-lasting design.

The new funding will help ingarden speed up its efforts to apply its health-focused and biological expertise to produce fresh vegetables at a larger scale. The company is also working towards meeting the standards needed to sell products like those with organic certifications, which is an important but challenging goal.

Saitner said, “We still have a lot of work to do before we have demonstrably healthier vegetables, sprouts and herbs commercialised in the same way that products with organic labels are today,”.

With this funding, ingarden is ready to grow its direct-to-consumer sales, expand into new countries, and improve its technology to offer a new alternative to traditional dietary supplements.

This successful funding round shows ingarden’s potential to transform urban nutrition and promote a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle.

Satiner in a LinkedIn post announcing the investment said, “Today, I’m proud to share a major milestone for ingarden as we welcome Gemüsering Stuttgart GmbH as our new investor and strategic partner. Their decades of expertise in the fresh food industry and their commitment to sustainability and consumer health perfectly align with our vision: bringing fresh nutrient-maximised greens directly into people’s lives, This partnership marks a turning point in our journey as we expand beyond boundaries. With their guidance and robust network we are empowered to scale our mission.”
