The investment round was led by sustainability-focused investors: Future Food Fund, PureTerra Ventures, and Inclimo. The funds will help it to improve its SaaS platform, LAYERS, grow internationally, and promote innovative farming practices that address major issues like climate change and food security.

Xavier Silva, CEO of HEMAV said, “We’re revolutionising agriculture and estimating production at a national scale — this is an enormous step, As we look to 2025 and beyond, we remain steadfast in our mission to deliver groundbreaking AI – powered tools that foster security in global food supplies and promote sustainable practices, ensuring a healthy and prosperous environment for future generations.”

It says that farming faces big challenges, such as growing food demand, climate change, and the fact that 30% of food is wasted globally.

Since starting, it has used advanced technology to help farmers predict crop yields, use resources more efficiently, and grow more food with less effort.

In 2024, the company made major progress, expanding to 24 countries and digitizing 9.2 million hectares of farmland.
