Dr. Ignacio Bonasa Alzuria is a well-known international expert in the transformation of leadership, emotional intelligence, and wellbeing. With dozens of years of professional and academic experience, he has designed new methodologies that incorporate art, human emotion, and business leadership.
He is the Founder and President of LIDERARTE (Spain) and leads several global initiatives promoting soulful leadership, creativity, and social transformation. His work bridges corporate strategy with emotional intelligence, helping individuals and organizations evolve towards meaningful growth.
Education
Dr. Bonasa holds a Doctorate in Leadership and Organizational Transformation from European International University, Paris, and a Doctorate in Strategic Educational Administration (PhD) from Universidad Internacional Ignacio Castro Pérez, Mexico.
He also earned a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the European Institute of Management and Technology, Switzerland, and a Doctorate in Business Administration (PhD) from Universidad del Caribe y Latinoamericana, Curaçao.
He has received multiple Doctor Honoris Causa distinctions from Latin American universities and a Doctor Honoris Causa in Arts from Bharath Virtual University for Peace and Education (India).
His postdoctoral research includes Administrative Sciences and Senior Management through Artificial Intelligence, Philosophy and Multidisciplinary Scientific Research, and Organizational and Labor Wellbeing from Universidad Claustro Humanista & NELKUALI (Mexico).
Additionally, he holds an MBA from ICADE Business School, Spain, a PDG from IESE Business School, Spain, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Zaragoza.
Career
Dr. Bonasa began his career in banking, holding senior positions at Banco Exterior de España, Argentaria, BBVA, and Caja Rural de Aragón. After years in executive leadership, he transitioned toward human-centered leadership and education, merging art with management science.
In 2012, he founded LIDERARTE, an organization promoting leadership, talent, and wellbeing through art. He subsequently founded ARTEcoaching® (2022), certified methodology of blending art with emotional development, and the initiative Womentoring (2024), designed to inspire female leadership with art and mentoring.
He also serves as President of the International Association Dale la Vuelta a la Tortilla, a global movement that transforms emotional pain into “vitamin for the soul,” and leads the European Association for Wellbeing and the European Association of Organizations with Soul.
Through these initiatives, Dr. Bonasa has collaborated with global corporations including Unilever, Bayer, Santander, and Telefónica.
Personal life
Dr. Bonasa, who is Spanish and proud of it, has transitioned from an executive position in the corporate space to engaging in human development that is soulful. His personal transformation — from business executive to wellbeing advocate — became the foundation of his philosophy on purpose-driven leadership.
Guided by art, empathy, and emotional intelligence, he believes that true leadership begins with understanding the human soul and aligning it with collective progress.
