French startup KERYS Software has raised €6.2 million in pre-seed funding to reshape how businesses manage their IT infrastructure.

SUMMARY

  • French startup KERYS Software has raised €6.2 million in pre-seed funding to reshape how businesses manage their IT infrastructure.

Founded in 2024 by Thomas Brethomé, Sébastien Domergue, Sylvain Cassier, and joined in 2025 by Thomas Girard, the team brings deep experience in cybersecurity and infrastructure, especially from high-security sectors like defence.

KERYS was built on a simple insight: companies often waste money and energy on underused IT equipment. Their solution? Virtualise workloads so multiple work environments can run on a single device—without compromising on performance or security.

Through its YS::Cloud and YS::Desktop platforms, KERYS helps reduce hardware use, lower emissions, and cut costs by making servers more efficient.

Thomas Girard, CEO and co-founder of KERYS Software, shared: In just one year, we have managed to establish ourselves as one of the emerging key players in InfraTech. We are tackling several key priorities for companies across all sectors, with an all-in-one approach: reducing costs, strengthening cybersecurity and managing carbon footprints.

This represents a paradigm shift in IT infrastructure optimisation and associated resource management, and the strong demand we are seeing – particularly from large corporations – strengthens our ambition.

Since launching, KERYS Software has built key strategic and commercial partnerships to grow its technology.

With the fresh funding, the company plans to expand its team, improve its platform, and speed up its global growth.

The funding round saw participation from Daphni, Seedcamp, and Backtrace, along with Kima Ventures. Several well-known angel investors also joined, including Amirhossein Malekzadeh, Sébastien Pahl, and Nicolas Steegmann. Their support will help KERYS strengthen its go-to-market strategy and hire top talent for the next phase of growth.

Shabir Vasram, Partner, Daphni, commented: KERYS Software is a rare combination of an extraordinary team and perfect timing, with the reorganisation of component architecture, the implementation of new regulations (NIS2 in particular), and established players losing momentum.

Carlos Eduardo Espinal MBE, Managing Partner at Seedcamp, said they’re thrilled to support KERYS from the very beginning as the team works to transform virtualisation in critical industries and beyond. He added:

With a stellar team of industry experts and a solid value proposition, KERYS is well-positioned to become a leader in InfraTech.

Dominik Tobschall, Founder and Partner at Backtrace, believes that Workstations and servers spend much of their lifetime idling. He said:

With Kerys, customers can run multiple CPU or GPU workloads on a single machine. Its lightweight, highly secure microkernel delivers near-native performance and safely virtualises workloads that previously required dedicated hardware. That’s smart engineering solving a real pain for customers: less idle time, lower total cost of ownership, and a smaller carbon footprint.

KERYS Software is gaining recognition in France as a rising player in deep tech and cybersecurity. It’s backed by major financial institutions and public organisations.

The company is also working with CEA LIST to help certify its technology for top-tier security standards, aiming to achieve the EAL5+ common criteria level soon.
