SUMMARY

  • Finnish foodtech company Foodiq has raised €10 million to grow internationally and expand the use of its unique cooking technology, the Multi-Layer Cooker (MLC).

This special system helps make food in a more local and eco-friendly way. The new funding will help Foodiq enter new markets and attract customers, especially for its natural, additive-free products in the dairy and plant-based food sectors.

The MLC is a modern food-making machine that works with many different ingredients. It’s designed to be more flexible and efficient than traditional methods. Foodiq says it's especially useful for companies in dairy and plant-based foods, which are under pressure to be more sustainable and innovative.

The MLC can be used for both large-scale production and small test batches. This lets companies create new recipes quickly, without using artificial additives like stabilizers or emulsifiers. That fits with the growing demand for cleaner, more natural food—especially in Europe and North America.

Foodiq’s approach also aligns with increasing consumer and government calls for more transparent and sustainable food. With EU policies like the Farm to Fork strategy and concerns over highly processed foods, tools like the MLC help manufacturers shift to more natural recipes without losing efficiency.

“This raise is a strong vote of confidence in our vision and business model,” said Robert Savikko, CEO and Co-founder of Foodiq. “We’re proud to remain fully focused on food tech - where innovation, sustainability, and scalability meet. With this funding, we’re ready to bring our technology to the world stage and help build a smarter, cleaner, and more local food future.”

Foodiq has become popular in the Nordic countries and is now preparing to grow internationally. With the new funding, the company plans to increase its production and enter new markets. One key goal is to build local production centers in different countries. These local hubs will help cut down on transportation emissions and make food supplies more reliable.

Foodiq is part of a growing group of European foodtech companies using new technology to fix old problems in food production. While many foodtech investments have focused on new ingredients like alternative proteins, tools and machines like the MLC are now being seen as just as important for helping these products succeed on a larger scale.
