Firehawk Aerospace Secures $60M In Series C Round

Sep 26, 2025 | By Kailee Rainse

Firehawk Aerospace has successfully raised $60 million in a Series C funding round, exceeding expectations.

The round, led by 1789 Capital whose partners include Donald Trump Jr. also brought in a strategic European investor. This funding will help the startup scale its innovative 3D-printed energetics technology, marking a major step from research and development to full-scale production.

One of the new investors is Presto Tech Horizons (PTH), a defense-focused fund created by Czech VC firm Presto Ventures and industrial group Czechoslovak Group (CSG). PTH’s backing highlights growing European interest in securing sovereign supply chains for munitions and energetics.

Firehawk Aerospace has pioneered the world’s first scalable method to 3D print solid rocket propellants. Unlike traditional casting and curing methods that take weeks or months and carry significant risks, Firehawk’s additive manufacturing approach drastically speeds up production cutting timelines by more than 99%, according to the company.

“The conflict in Ukraine proves that while drones give warfighters a decisive edge, munitions like missiles and rockets are the core of combat power,” says Will Edwards, CEO of Firehawk. ”A supply chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and propellant and energetics production are the biggest constraint on missile, rocket, and artillery manufacturing. Enabling the European defense industry to also produce these weapons quickly and at scale is the core of Firehawk’s mission. We’re proud to partner with Presto Tech Horizons and CSG to help bolster the European energetics supply chain and ensure our allies can fuel the production of key defense equipment.”

Presto Tech Horizons’ investment goes beyond funding it serves as a strategic link between U.S. innovation and European industrial capabilities. Amid pressures on defense supply chains from the war in Ukraine and broader geopolitical uncertainties, the deal underscores Europe’s increasing drive to bring critical defense production, especially energetics and munitions, closer to home.

Presto Tech Horizons notes that Firehawk’s technology not only allows rapid scaling of existing systems but also enables entirely new forms of decentralized production a capability highly valuable for NATO countries aiming to boost defense resilience.

This Series C is Firehawk’s largest funding round yet. While PTH’s exact contribution wasn’t disclosed, the round also included Draper Associates, Decisive Point, Stellar Ventures, and other investors, and will help the company move from prototyping to full-scale manufacturing.

Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Firehawk is developing a 340-acre production facility in Lawton, Oklahoma, with testing operations in West Texas, including a 30-square-mile private launch range.

“The current geopolitical situation underscores the need to invest in innovative defense technologies,” says Michal Strnad, Chairman of the Board and owner of CSG. “Firehawk can play a crucial role in the future of not only rocket propulsion, but also ammunition production. This innovative project can strengthen cooperation between leaders of the American and European defense industries.” The parties are already exploring opportunities for industrial application of Firehawk’s technologies.

“Since the early 2010s, scientists and engineers have explored 3D printing as a way to unlock faster, safer, and more flexible solid propellant production. Firehawk is the first to truly deliver on that promise. They combine rapid manufacturing with complex grain designs that were once impossible, improving performance while enabling distributed production at scale. Firehawk’s technology doesn’t just speed up how propellants are made – it fundamentally reshapes the supply chain for missiles and rockets. That’s why this partnership is so important for Europe’s defense resilience,” adds Matej Luhovy, newly appointed Partner at Presto Tech Horizons.

The company’s offering is ambitious: faster production, safer handling, and supply chain flexibility capable of meeting modern military needs at scale including for allied nations strengthening their domestic defense industries.

The deal also sets the stage for Firehawk to expand into Europe, as EU and NATO members increase joint investments in defense and resilience technologies.
