Filics, a robotics startup based in Munich, has raised €13.5 million in new funding to expand its automated pallet transport technology.
SUMMARY
- Filics, a robotics startup based in Munich, has raised €13.5 million in new funding to expand its automated pallet transport technology.
The round included support from Sandwater, Alven, F-LOG Ventures, and the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, along with existing backers Capnamic and 10x Founders.
Additional investors included Bayern Kapital and industry experts like Andrei Danescu (CEO of Dexory) and Helmut Schmid (CCO of Filics, ex-CEO of Agilox).
The funding will help Filics scale its key product—the Filics Unit, a robotic system that automates the movement of pallets. By late 2025, the system will support floor block storage, offering up to 66% more space efficiency.

Filics also plans to enter other European markets by 2026. In the long term, the company aims to create a solution for fully autonomous truck loading in under five minutes.
“With the new financing round, we are taking the next big step in our growth strategy. Thanks to the strong support, we can further optimise and scale the technology. The trust of our investors is both a tailwind and an obligation,” declares Gregor Kolls, co-founder and CEO of Filics.
Founded in 2021 by engineers from the Technical University of Munich, Filics has been building its robotic platform with early backing from logistics leaders like DHL Group and Nagel Group.
Filics has created a smart solution for moving pallets inside warehouses. Their main product, the Filics Unit, is made up of two independent robots that can drive under Euro pallets or pallet cages, lift them, and transport them directly.
The system can carry up to 1.2 tons, covering all common intralogistics needs. The robots work autonomously, navigating warehouses and adjusting to various types of load carriers.
By driving under pallets and moving them without the need for large turning areas, the Filics Unit helps save space and increase efficiency in busy storage environments.
The Filics Unit helps solve major logistics issues like limited space, capacity bottlenecks, and a shortage of skilled workers, delivering up to 30% space savings in warehouse operations.
It is the first robotic system in the world that can fully drive under and through pallets and load carriers resting on the floor—allowing it to pull and move them efficiently.
Thanks to its compact design, the Filics Unit uses only the space of the pallet itself, making it one of the most space-efficient pallet transport solutions available.
Since 2021, Filics has worked with industry partners to test and refine the technology. Backed by investors like Capnamic, 10x Founders, and Bayern Kapital, the company continues to grow and enhance its robotics platform for the logistics industry.
“Our goal is to redefine pallet handling and transform the logistics industry with comprehensive automation solutions. The strong demand for our technology confirms that we have hit the nerve of the times with our solution”, says Helmut Schmid, CCO at Filics.
